Event Description
Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming one of the most important technological developments of our time. AI systems are now influencing almost every aspect of society. At the Secular Hub, we have a recurring series to explore these developments together.
Getting More Out of AI: A Hands-On Workshop for Beginners and Novices
Curious about AI but not sure where to start? Tried ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or another AI chatbot and wondered how to get better answers? This session in the Secular Hub AI series is for beginners and casual users who want to build their skills. Don't have an AI account yet? That's ok! We'll have people available to help you get started.
This will be a hands-on session, with plenty of time to try new skills that interest you. Explore ways to use AI to:
We’ll practice asking clearer questions, providing helpful context, and refining answers. We’ll also discuss AI’s limitations and how to check its claims.
Helpers will be on hand as you experiment and work on your own ideas.
We encourage you to bring a laptop so you can try things as we go, but it’s not required. A phone or tablet works too, and you’re welcome to simply come, watch, and learn. No technical background needed—just curiosity!
Recurring schedule: We meet on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM.
